As a group
at uni we were given the challenge to create our own perfume... there was us
thinking it was going to be easy!
We were by
far the most immature group and as much as I don’t want to admit it, unsuccessful
group. BUT we tried and had A LOT of fun! Which is the most important thing?
Right? Hahahha
Our aim was
to create a fresh/fruity scent for our Fragrance brand (Strand) but it couldn’t
have gone more wrong. It ended up smelling like I mixture of grass, old carpets
and tobacco... hahaha appealing?? So, TOP TIP from me to you: Do not mix rose,
tobacco, grass, vanilla and dairy.
Creating a
scent is so difficult! You have to get all the measurements and smells right
but we definitely gave it our all and even though there was loads of very successful
groups we didn’t let that get to us; we went home, had a shower and removed any
of the perfume that was on our body. I sincerely apologise to everyone who
could smell me on the bus.
The
highlight of the day was definitely my lecturer telling me to “quickly wash it
off because it smells like something that would cause an allergic reaction”
