Fashion Communication and
Promotion students collaborated with Graphic Design students to create
fragrance packaging and bottles.
We were extemely lucky with
the group of students that we were given, extremely hard working and listened
to all of our feedback.
A lot of
ideas and rough copies were produced. The original designs are very different
to what we ended up with, which in my opinion shows great team work and growth
within a group.
AND The final
results:
We
wanted our bottle to resemble an oil can, again keeping a light hearted
consistency throughout Strand. Overall we wanted a more delicate silhouette
which in keeps with the beauty industry. Design features such as a pump were
practical for dispensing the fragrance oil. With an additional safety cap to
stop any oils spills (no pun intended).
Outer packaging displays a STRAND
motif pattern which wraps around the bottle… Representing the smoothness of
your hair as a finished result. To open, a little STRAND of thread dangles down
inviting you to tear open the packaging, uncovering a wash of colour which
corresponds to the scent. The instruction cards for our product illustrate a
cute story of how to use your new fragrance- a little helping hand which slots
inside the inner packaging.
